WHISPERING PINES BIBLE CAMP CODE OF CONDUCT

Our goal for each summer is to model Christ to each camper and co-worker. This can only happen when each worker commits himself or herself to this ministry wholeheartedly, realizing that Whispering Pines Bible Camp is not an easy summer vacation. There will be much hard work, past what you may feel you are capable at times. But it can be accomplished if you come with a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ, a heart for service, and a desire to work with the people He places in your life.

Each person applying must be prepared to be flexible and to do other work than the specific responsibility applied for. We will do our best to put you where you can best use the gifts God has given you. However, there may be times when a job just must be done, and we will expect you to “do it unto the Lord” to the best of your ability.

Please read the following statement of commitment and consider your commitment carefully. After careful consideration, please sign at the bottom to acknowledge your agreement.

1. My primary intentions and reason for working at Whispering Pines Bible Camp are to serve God and minister to campers.

2. I will pray for the camp ministry and for campers and staff at least once per week before the camping season begins.

3. I desire to arrive at camp with a fresh attitude of serving Christ, and will gladly make personal sacrifices if needed.

4. I will seriously deal with sin in my life prior to coming to camp, and desire to grow deeper in my walk with God, in God’s Word and in prayer.

5. I desire to live a godly life both now and while at camp, to model Christ to others, and to bring glory to Him.

6. I agree with the camp goal, “To show and teach ‘Jesus’ in such a way that our campers can know and follow him”. I want to love campers with the love of Christ. I want to tell them about the gift of forgiveness and new life that He wants to give them. I want to teach them to put their complete faith and trust in Him.

7. I will NOT enter into any exclusive social relationship with another staff member or camper while at camp. I choose to keep my focus on serving Christ.

8. I promise to submit to the authority of camp leadership and to obey the camp rules.

9. I will co-operate fully with the camp’s conservative use of Christian contemporary music.

10. I will be careful to represent Jesus to my campers in my speech, dress, actions, and appearance.

11. I will do my best to serve and be responsible to the parents of our campers by caring for the physical, social and spiritual welfare of their children.

12. I promise to work diligently on workdays or other assignments, and to pull my share of the load of the camp work, and encourage unity of the camp staff.
